Christ-Centered Learning
Growing Hearts and Minds
At Faith Mountain Academy, we partner with families to provide a Christ-centered education where children are known, valued, and guided to grow. Our learning environment is intentionally designed to nurture wisdom, character, and a love of learning—forming students academically, spiritually, and personally.
Learning With Purpose
Education is more than the delivery of information. At Faith Mountain Academy, we believe learning should shape how children think, reason, and grow - guided with intention and rooted in how God designed them to learn.
Children are wonderfully created by God, each with unique gifts and callings, and invited to grow as part of a greater body. They are not defined by grades, scores, or benchmarks alone, but formed over time through thoughtful instruction, meaningful engagement, and the steady guidance of caring teachers. Learning here is designed to cultivate understanding, character, and a love of truth.
An Engaging and Intentional Learning Environment
At Faith Mountain Academy, we cultivate classrooms that value active engagement paired with clear direction. Rather than relying heavily on passive instruction or an overemphasis on worksheets, students are guided to interact with ideas, participate in discussion, and develop habits of attention and thoughtful reasoning.

While each child grows and matures over time, learning is carefully structured and led with purpose. Students are placed within our foundational curriculum based on readiness and learning needs, allowing them to be appropriately challenged and supported as they progress. Lessons are designed to encourage curiosity and confidence while fostering responsibility, perseverance, and disciplined thinking.
Rooted in Faith, Growing Together
At Faith Mountain Academy, our understanding of education begins with Christ. We believe children are created by God with purpose and responsibility, called to grow in wisdom, obedience, and love of truth as they mature.

Because children are made in the image of God, they are worthy of care, guidance, and intentional formation. Our Christ-centered environment is shaped by Biblical truth, thoughtful instruction, and adult leadership that seeks to steward each child’s growth with wisdom and discernment. Faith informs how we teach, how we lead, and how we cultivate character—preparing students for lives marked by faith, responsibility, and purpose.

Throughout Scripture, God meets His people on the mountain — at Sinai, Carmel, Zion, and the Mount of Olives. Mountains are places of revelation, covenant, testing, and victory. They remind us that faith is both formed and proven — refined through obedience, strengthened through challenge, and established in truth.

At Faith Mountain Academy, we desire to cultivate that same kind of formation. A place where hearts and minds are shaped by truth, where students grow steady under challenge, and where they learn to walk faithfully with Christ.
We seek to raise young men and women who know Christ personally, pursue truth without compromise, and walk boldly in faith wherever He leads.
Our Approach to Learning
Choosing a school is an important decision, and we believe families deserve a clear understanding of how learning is guided and shaped. At Faith Mountain Academy, education is rooted in faith, led with intention, and designed to form thoughtful, capable learners over time.

Learning in our classrooms is not left to chance or preference. It is carefully structured, thoughtfully guided, and shaped by clear convictions about truth, formation, and responsibility. We invite families to learn more about what defines our approach and how learning is lived out each day at Faith Mountain Academy.
A Message From the Director
~ Shawnee Scaniffe

As we guide students academically, our desire is also to shepherd their hearts—cultivating a love of truth that is deeply rooted in Christ.

In my studies with the Lord (and with my Mom lol), I have developed a love of Hebrew. When I learned that every Hebrew letter is a picture, has a meaning, and creates the meaning of the word, I was fascinated! Even the very names that Adam gave the animals describe the animals with their Hebrew letter pictures!

One of the most important Hebrew words I have come across in my studies is the word for "name", which can be literally translated as "destroys chaos." Knowing who God is - fully understanding His name and His character - allows us to know who WE are created to be IN Him. Knowing God's name destroys the chaos the world brings to our identity. This is so important, especially in todays world where everybody is telling us and our children who we are and who we should be. We do not want our children - or ourselves - to be defined by the world. Rather, may the Lord breathe life into us as we study His word, that we might be transformed and set free to be all we were created to be in Him.
