UNIQUELY
CREATED
Our Philosophy:
Learning Done Differently
Public schools have long been organized as a one-size fits all system with each child being appraised using a standardized measuring stick. This is not how God created us. He created us to be part of a body, each unique with our own special gifts necessary for the body to function. Public schools squash this individuality, forcing our children to measure their worth in light of these standards, as opposed to measuring their worth through God's eyes according to His plan and purpose for their lives. Our children's identities and self-worth becomes reduced to a grade...a reading level...a test score.
At Faith Mountain Academy, we believe that children thrive in an environment which values their individuality. Every child is uniquely created by God with individual strengths, abilities, and timing in their learning journey. In our program, your child will be placed into our foundational curriculum based on their personal learning needs, instead of using the public school tradition of placing by age and grade level. Learning should be as unique as your child. Rather than relying heavily on worksheets or rigid grade-level expectations, we focus on when children are ready to learn. Our lessons are thoughtful and engaging, designed to foster curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.

Rooted in the conviction that children are persons created in the image of God, deserving of deep ideas, intentional formation, and a learning experience that is both rich and joyful, our Christ-centered educational environment is designed to nurture the whole child as they grow into disciples equipped to flourish in every area of life.

A Message From the Director
~ Shawnee Scaniffe
In my studies with the Lord (and with my Mom lol), I have developed a love of Hebrew. When I learned that every Hebrew letter is a picture, has a meaning, and creates the meaning of the word, I was fascinated! Even the very names that Adam gave the animals describe the animals with their Hebrew letter pictures!

One of the most important Hebrew words I have come across in my studies is the word for "name", which can be literally translated as "destroys chaos." Knowing who God is - fully understanding His name and His character - allows us to know who WE are created to be IN Him. Knowing God's name destroys the chaos the world brings to our identity. This is so important, especially in todays world where everybody is telling us and our children who we are and who we should be. We do not want our children - or ourselves - to be defined by the world. Rather, may the Lord breathe life into us as we study His word, that we might be transformed and set free to be all we were created to be in Him.
